Mission Statement:

ARN's mission is to promote and advance professional rehabilitation nursing practice through education, advocacy, collaboration, and research to enhance the quality of life for those afflicted by disability and chronic illness.

Southeast Texas Chapter ARN has been very active for over 25 years.  We are the proud recipients of nine national Chapter Excellence Awards:

We are also the proud recipients of the 2005, 2006, 2007 national Website Award and the 2007 Best Beginning Newsletter Award..

Our primary purpose is to promote professional growth and excellence in rehabilitation nursing through knowledge, education and networking.  

Chapter Activities:

Southeast Texas Chapter ARN holds monthly educational sessions, usually on the fourth Tuesday of the month, from 5:00-7:30 PM.  Programs with approved contact hours, dinner, and networking are offered.  We visit and tour rehabilitation facilities throughout the greater Houston area. Meetings are free of charge to chapter members, $10 for guests.  See the calendar for specific information and locations. 

An annual Expo and Scholarship Fundraiser is held in June with vendor exhibits, a dynamic guest speaker, election of officers, and scholarship awards. 

An annual  Rehabilitation Nursing Review Course – 16 CEU’s of review of rehabilitation principles and practices; also serves as review for the CRRN exam. 

Opportunities for scholarship awards for continuing education in rehabilitation  nursing.

An annual November Gala and Awards Banquet.  

Nomination of a peer for the Rehabilitation Nurse of the Year Award

Continuing Education Contact Hours - ARN is no longer an approved maintenance provider for CDMSC, CCM or CRCC continuing education. We are no longer able to include complimentary case manager contact hours with all of our chapter programs; exceptions will be noted with calendar information.
