Congratulations President-Elect 2007-2008!!

Current Employment: HCHD Quentin Mease Hospital
Position:   Assistant Director of Nursing
Celeste has overall nursing management responsibility for the PM&R and Geriatric Progressive Care inpatient units and PM&R, Geriatric, and EMG clinics at Harris County Hospital District.

Why did you decide to join SETX Chapter ARN?
“I enjoy the opportunity to meet and network with my rehabilitation nursing professional peers; the continuing education is very important to me.”
   
National ARN Involvement: Presented research paper at 2006 National Conference in Chicago, IL
   
Awards Received: Election to the President Elect office!
Community Involvement:
Member of the Houston Organization of Nurse Executives (past Board Member, By-Laws Chairperson; developed and coordinated the 2-day certification preparation course for CAN or CNAA certification).

Hobbies, Special Interests:
“I am passionate about quilting, particularly appliqué quilting. I play golf whenever I can. I also love to travel.”
Previous Experience:

“I served as educator at HCHD for PM&R and Geriatrics for 3 ½ years. Prior to that, I served three years as Director of Nursing at TIRR LifeBridge LTAC and former educator for TIRR LifeBridge/TIRR.”

What does Rehabilitation Nursing means to me:
“I have found that Rehabilitation nursing satisfies my personal professional nursing goals – and opportunity to provide wholistic nursing practice and to truly be an advocate for patients. I also appreciate the opportunity to be a part of an interdisciplinary patient care team that truly provides coordinated, wholistic care for patients and their families. It is satisfying when we are successful in helping our clients achieve their maximum possible wellness.”
