Rajesh William Karee, RN

Current Employment: Memorial Hermann/TIRR
Position:   Clinical Nurse
Responsibilities include: 1. Perform initial and ongoing patient/caregiver assessment based on age group served.
2. Develop a plan of nursing care based on age group served.
3. Implement nursing action based on age group served.
4. Evaluate patient progress/achievement of goals based on age group served.
5. Co-ordinate and provide patient education activity.
6. Serve as a clinical resource.
7. Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided by self and team members.
8. Support the clinical operation of nursing and the program at the unit level.
9. Participate in professional development.
10. Perform healthcare teaching to patients, family members, and co-workers.

Why did you decide to join SETX ARN?
“To participate in local level of the Association of Rehabilitation Nursing.”
Awards Received:  -Award to attend the 188th Annual Conference of the consortium of the Multiple Sclerosis Center, June 2004, in Toronto, Canada.
   
Community Involvement  

Conducts a Multiple Sclerosis support group for patients and family members the second Saturday of every month.

Exceptional Accomplishment:  
Developed patient teaching material for individuals with multiple sclerosis, teach all patients and provide hand-out for resource.
Hobbies, Special Interests:
Reading the Bible.
Previous Experience:

During Ostomy Nursing training, Rajesh worked in an ostomy and wound care clinic. He learned how to perform stoma care and wound care, as well as to train the patient by demonstration and return demonstration.

What does Rehabilitation Nursing means to me:
Easing the Road to Recovery, Rajesh writes, “I care about being an advocate for my patient, communicating with their families, and providing patient teaching material so the road to recovery is smooth and easy.”
